Guides and tips

What can my cat eat?

Eventhough cats are carnivore, it does not seem to stop them from eating all kinds of food, even if some of them are highly dangerous and toxic for them.

Guides and tips

Foods they are allowed to eat

The common belief is that cats instinctively know what they should and shouldn’t eat. Unfortunately, this isn’t true—otherwise, it would save us a lot of trouble. While a cat can usually tell if something is spoiled by its smell, that’s about as far as its instincts go. Depending on individual preferences, a cat may choose to taste or even consume large amounts of substances that could potentially cause serious health issues.

Do not feed milk to kittens or an adult cats, they may like it but they don't know they're lactose intolerant and it creates a lot of gastrointestinal problems to them. There is milk special for kittens and adult cats, which is safe.

Boiled or scrambled eggs

One egg per day for a cat, is equivalent to 10+ eggs per day for a human.

Milk for cats

There is milk exclusively for cats or kittens in the market, fresh or in powder.

Rice

Rice and chicken is recommended for a cat in recovery.

Cooked meat

Ιδανική πηγή πρωτεΐνης είναι το κοτόπουλο, το μοσχάρι και το ψάρι, μαγειρεμένα χωρίς αλάτι, κόκκαλα και πέτσα.

Cooked vegetables

Some cats seem to like pumpkin, broccoli and carrot.

The Theory

Cat food is nutritionally balanced and meets all of a cat’s dietary needs. In an ideal world, cats would eat only cat food and drink only water…

The Reality

…but in reality, that’s not the case. These clever and food-loving creatures always find a way to eat or drink whatever catches their interest, regardless of whether it’s dangerous for them.
